Opening for the Season:  Heights Tower, PAS Treasure Hunt, Farm Park, Lakeview Library, Wheels O Time, & Observatory

Opening soon are the Peoria Height Observation Tower, the PAS Science Treasure Hunt, Fondulac Farm Park, Peoria Public Library- Lakeview Branch, Wheels O Time Museum, and Northmoor Observatory. Lots of fun! For additional family fun actvities, visit the PeoriaParent.com calendar.

Peoria Heights Observation Tower opens on April 21.  Kids will love checking out Peoria from a bird’s eye view.  There’s also a small playground next to the tower.

Peoria Academy of Science Treasure Hunt starts April 21.  It is a combination family adventure and scavenger hunt focusing on science and technology facilities and resources in the Peoria area. All entrants must be students between 1st and 8th grade on April 21, 2012 and reside in Central Illinois. The Grand Prize drawing will be only from the 100 entrants selected at random from those completing eight site visits and the Everyday Science items.

Fondulac Farm Park opens April 23. Visit and feed the farm animals, and checkout the awesome playgrounds at Fondulac Farm Parks. It is open weekdays only until Memorial Day weekend. After May 25, it is open Tue-Sun. It’s $2.50 for kids, and $3.00 for adults.

Peoria Public Library- Lakeview Branch Grand Opening happens on April 28.  Lakeview Branch will open today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m.  "Biscuit" will be there to greet the children and everyone can hear storytellers and enter the doorprize drawings for books or an e-reader. Open until 6:00 p.m.

Wheels O’ Time Museum opens May 2.  Check out vinatage cars, fire trucks, lionel trains, tractors, and more. Under 3 yrs is free; kids $3.50; adults $6.50 Weds-Sun

Northmoor Observatory is open on Saturday evenings, starting in May. It’s a great place to take your little astronomer.

Be the Dinosaur Exhibit  at Lakeview closes down May 20.  Pretend to be a T-Rex or triceratops.  Also, the Discovery Science Center is always fun.
