Congrats to Barack Obama.
We should all stand behind him as the president of the United States, even if he wasn’t your candidate. As parents, we should be more involved in the political process and demonstrate this to our children. Voting is a good start, but to let our voices be heard further, we should communicate with our elected officials. I sent emails to Barack Obama (change.gov) and Aaron Schock (info@aaronschock.com). I congratulated them on their victories, and communicated my list of concerns. The most urgent concern, of course, is the mortgage and financial crisis. But as a younger generation, we should look at long-term goals as well as short-term goals. Our generation has to deal with social security, national debt, and global warming. A Newsweek article by Jonathon Darman touches on these points. We don’t want to pass these problems to our kids’ generation. It should be fixed in our generation, and I emailed Barack Obama and Aaron Schock these concerns. You should, too, or email them whatever problems concern you. If Main Street America doesn’t communicate with their elected officials, they will not be represented fully, and special interests and lobbyists will.
It’s very clever that Barack Obama is using change.gov for public input. He is also using youtube.com to reach a wider audience with his “Your Weekly Address from the President-Elect.”
Now that elections are over, hopefully we’ll see more action and less talking.

Mortgage Crisis
I feel sad and bothered that many homeowners are having a hard time with their mortgage loans. Hope Now and Hope for Homeowners should provide resources that help the situation.
