Fondulac District Library announces Star Wars Reads Day, which celebrates reading and the stories of one of the most popular sagas of all time. The all- ages event will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Fondulac District Library in East Peoria. Activities and programs will run throughout the day and include a storytime, lightsaber labs, Jedi trainings, a costume derby, crafts, Wii and role-playing games, trivia and Wookieespeak contests, prize drawings, and more. Special guests from the 501st Legion and Mandalorian Mercs costume clubs will be in attendance and available for photographs. East Peorian Nat Feipel will discuss his experience as a game designer and tester for Star Wars: Edge of the Empire, a recently released, standalone role-playing game. The library also offers Star Wars-related books and movies on display and available for check out to library cardholders.

Fondulac District Library was selected to host an official Star Wars Reads Day event. Star Wars Reads Day was created by Lucasfilm and its publishing partners–Abrams, Chronicle Books, Dark Horse, Del Rey, DK Publishing, Random House Audio, Scholastic, Titan Magazines, and Workman.
