- FOLEPI’s Winter Wonderland: The almost 2-mile drive-through electric park is the Festival of Lights' signature event! Folepi's Winter Wonderland features the majority of the Parade of Lights floats and many other lighted displays.
- Caterpillar Visitor Center: What kid doesn’t love big machines, especially ones you can pretend to ride!
- Peoria River Front Museum: Have you seen the new museum yet? Come and support it! The kids will especially enjoy the “Discovery Worlds” exhibit.
- Peoria Zoo: Say “Hi!” to the Tiger Cubs, Lions, & Giraffes
- Luthy Botanical Garden: Check out the Kwanzaa Display from Dec 26-30. Bowling: Glow-in-the-dark bowling at Jillians, fish-themed bowling at Bass Pro Shops, Mt. Hawley Bowl, and Christian Center Bowling are all fun places.
- Forest Park Nature Center: Visit the little critters at the Nature Center, then hike the winter trails.
- Ice Skating: Whiz around at the Owen Center or Pekin’s Memorial Ice Arena during open skate times.
- Swimming: Go for a swim indoors at the Aquaplex or at Five Points Washington
- Your Local Library: Peoria Public Library has some activities planned. Don’t forget to check out a book or movie!
- Indoor Fun: Jump around at Monkey Joe’s, Rainbow Play Systems, or FRC’s Motor Mites.
- Day Trips: Children’s Museum of Normal, Springfield Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, Discovery Depot Children’s Museum in Galesburg, and Galesburg Railroad Museum are easy day trips
