A Unique School In Peoria

Imagine sending your kids to a school that treats its students with the same love and care that you would your own kids. Where a fourth-grader can be seen reading a story to a pre-schooler and a Kindergartner is working on an art project that explores the technique of Picasso and Jackson Pollock. Where each child learns at his or her own pace, expanding on their strength and improving on their weaknesses. In that very same building, and within the school hours, your child can be doing yoga, taking piano lessons, learning French or serving food to the needy at the local Salvation Army.
Well, guess what? This school already exists right here in Peoria and has been since 1977!!It's the Montessori Children's House of Peoria. This is where I've been sending my 9 year-old daughter since she was 3, along with her two brothers who are now 8 and 5 years old. It's been truly one of the best decisions my husband and I have made.
Every year I watch my children, and other Montessori children whom I've gotten to know, blossom in both an academic and social sense. They are aware of the world they live in and are eager to explore what it has to offer. They are encouraged and taught to be good citizens of the world, regardless of their age.
I am truly thankful to Montessori and its committed staff for all that they have instilled in my children.
