The educational system does not provide personal finance education like they do for basic reading and math skills. Basic personal finance courses are not mandatory core courses even all the way to colleges unless you are in finance. Financial literacy in areas such as investments, credit cards, mortgages, loans, & credit scores are just a few items that our children will be facing in the real world.

Stress Release for Children

My children feel excellent when we play this stress reduction game. It is most fun for them when they can use their outdoor voices. We say silly little phrases or meaningful phrases like 'I Love You'. You take a very deep breath and say the phrase until you have absolutely no more breath left. It works for adults too. It's a fun way to do the deep breathing stress reduction technique. My kids love it because they can be loud and silly. I love it because it de-stresses them. Some people say, 'what stress can a child have?' The answer is simple - they have tons of stress.

Turn your home into a chemical free home without all the toxins that are found in detergents and cleaners. Did you know that one of Oprah's favorite products is Basic H2. I love this product because it has so many uses from cleaning fruit to washing my floors. It is biodegradable and great for the environment so I throw it on my yard after I have washed my floors. It actually helps the grass absorb water better so it helps my yard.

Save WTVP

My childhood included Sesame Street, Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood, and Reading Rainbow. My son’s childhood includes the same with practicing numbers on Sesame Street, and giggling with Calliou, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Curious George the Monkey. These children’s programs on WTVP are in danger of going off the air in Central Illinois. It would be a shame to lose these family shows.
