Peoria – These and much more will be at Peoria County's Fifth Annual Emergency Expo on Wednesday, June 16 at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie from 4:00 - 7:00pm. Over twenty local emergency response agencies will display their emergency equipment in the parking lot along War Memorial Drive for the public to explore & experience, free of charge. Featured at the Expo are OSF Saint Francis and Methodist Medical Centers' medical helicopters; Peoria Fire Department's Fire Safety House; Peoria County Sheriff's SWAT vehicle, mounted patrol, & K-9 unit; and Homeland Security Region 10's mobile command unit.
Also at the Expo will be fire trucks, an ambulance, decontamination unit, motorcycle & squad patrols, a rescue & recovery boat, ATV's, and much more. First responders from participating agencies will be on hand to answer questions and offer equipment demonstrations.
In addition to the agencies listed above, the following response agencies are participating in this free public event: Advanced Medical Transport, AmerenCilco, American Red Cross, Bartonville Police Department, Care & Treatment Board, Chillicothe Fire Department, Dunlap Fire Department, E-911, Elmwood Fire Department, Henry Fire Protection District, Illinois Air National Guard, Peoria City/County Health Department, Peoria County Animal Protection Services, Peoria County Emergency Management Agency, Peoria Fire Department, Peoria Heights Police Department, Peoria Office of Emergency Management, Peoria Police Department, Princeville Fire Department, Salvation Army, Tazewell County Emergency Services & Disaster Agency, and Tazewell County Sheriff's Office.
