I read "The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom" by Dr. Phil after my first child was born. With it, I was 5 lbs within my pre-pregnancy weight. I don't know if I have time to re-read it this time after baby #2. But here's some stuff I remember.
1. Get rid of all the snack foods in the house. But what about the hubby and kids' snacks. The book says to keep a place/cabinet designated for the hubby and kids snacks. This cabinet is off-limits to you. I've done this, and it's worked pretty well for me
I can't believe it's Thanksgiving next week. I feel the holiday rush, and feel like tons of things to do. And I haven't exercised, not even power-walked for a couple of days. But I have been eating well, though. And it's almost time to go to bed, so no exercise tonight.
I hope to exercise, at least walk tomorrow. Where does the time go with kids and commitments? Do you guys feel the same?
So one of my fitness goals is to jog a half-marathon in May. I think that's enough time to train.
At first, I couldn't even run. I started off training just walking 1.5 miles. Then, started really slowly and jogged .25 mile. When I felt comfortable I went up jogging to .5 mile to 1 mile to 1.5 miles to 2 miles, and finally to 2.5 miles now.
I'm running on a treadmill at 0% incline, and need to increase the incline so it's similar to real roads. Increasing the treadmill's incline is a goal.
I'm proud of myself for not ordering anything from the Long John Silver's drive-thru b/c my husband wanted it. If it was steak and shake, that's another story. My husband ate his fast food at home, while i made myself a ham sandwich for a meal.
I heard reading "Fast Food Nation" turns people off from eating fast food. That's on my to-read list.
