Good's Furniture
We took a road trip to Good's furniture in Kewanee, IL to check out that store. That store is huge and it took several hours just to walk around the entire facility. It is a really nice set-up of very nice solid furniture all connected indoors under one roof from the top manufacturers such as Thomasville. It was worth the trip.
Free Admission to Chicago Museums
Feb is a great time to plan a road trip to Chicago. In Feb, there is free admission to both the Art Institute of Chicago (www.artic.edu) and the Field Museum (www.fieldmuseum.org).
Indianapolis, IN
Indianapolis is a great weekend getaway. It's about a 3-4 hour drive, with fun for the whole family. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is the WORLD'S largest children's museum. There's something for everyone from crawling babies to adults. Here's their site: www.childrensmuseum.org
Also, families should check out the Indianapolis Motor Speedway & Hall of Fame, www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/museum/. You can actually ride on the Indy 500 speedway, but you're in a bus, not a racecar :)
There's also the zoo with a dolphin show, Pacers basketball, and the downtown Circle Center Shopping Mall.
