Water Fun in the Tri-counties

Posted on: Sun, 06/05/2011 - 19:34| By: GinaBina

Summer has arrived with its scorching weather. Water fun will definitely quench it. Some of my mommy friends have been doing the rounds at the local water attractions. Below are some of the most popular.

Harry La Hood Park in Washington has an awesome water play area with sprayers, sprinklers, and fountains. It is one of my favorite summer spots. Plus, it's FREE!

Shore Acres Pool in Chillicothe is a favorite with several of my mommy friends.

Splashdown in East Peoria is open now. Starting in July will be Family Friday Fun Nights....Pool...Night Lights...DJ...Enough Said!

Dragonland Water Park in Pekin is one to check out.

The Gateway Fountain at the Peoria Riverfront is also a great area for splashing around

Lakeview Family Aquatic Center is a local favorite which opens June 10.

Logan Water Playground features several colorful water displays and sprayers sure to cool you off during the dogs days of summer.

The local gyms also have their pools open to the public for a fee: Aqua Plex (in the Riverplex), the Clubs at River City, YMCA, YWCA , and 5 Points in Washington.

Plus, there is the good old fashioned water hose and kiddie pool in the back yard. If you have any other local water fun favorites, please share in the PeoriaParent.com comments area or our facebook page. Keep cool!
