All users must create a free account and log in to use the Groups

To join a public group, click on the public group's link. There will be a "Join" link on the left side at the top of the menu. Membership is accepted immediately.

To join a private group, members find their group from the list. After selecting it, there will be a "Request Membership" link on the left side at the top of the menu. The manager will then need to approve the membership.

A hyperlink is a reference element in a document to another section of the same document or to another document

When an XYZ group member posts, it is automatically shown to the XYZ Group.

XYZ group member can show same posts to other groups and the public. Click "Groups" under the post text box to determine your audience.

XYZ member's posts are automatically shown to XYZ Group only. XYZ has to change the settings to create a wider audience to other groups and the public.

How to post a a new topic or a calendar event on XYZ Group

After logging into XYZ Group, there are 2 ways to add posts:
1) On the left menu, click "Create Forum Topic" or "Create Calendar Event"
2)On XYZ main page, click Forums tab or Events Tab. Click "submit a new discussion topic to this group" or "submit a new calendar event to this group."

The fastest way to get back to the XYZ Group main page is to click "XYZ (Group's Name)" on the left menu.

Another way to get back to XYZ Group main page is by going to the "Groups" tab at the top.

For a public group, a manager creates a group, and checks “open” membership requests on the form. Any user can request to join a public group, and memberships are accepted immediately. To join a public group, there will be a "Join" link on the left side at the top of the menu.

The easiest way to create a private group is to select "moderated" membership requests and "list in groups directory." In the description or welcome message, type that it is a private group.
